This family home was created by combining two properties to form an enlarged 5 bedroom house in North West London.
The property is in a Conservation area, so we had to pay careful attention to the façade treatments, materials and proportions.
The clients were starting a family at the time so adaptable spaces were key. We provided a large open plan living/dining/kitchen space by infilling a small courtyard. It opens onto the rear garden providing a functional link between inside and outside.
The loft extension offered a private zone for guests or home office.

This is a new house in Hilltown, Dunboyne, Co. Meath. The clients wanted a minimal staIrcase at the centre of the house to be the focal point. The curved stairs rises to the third floor with a large roof light bathing the space in natural light. Water is introduced at the back to reflect light into the spaces and create a tranquil connection with the landscape.

This project required a redesign of the Ground Floor spaces to accommodate the family's lifestyle. We created an open plan Kitchen/Dining space opening onto a newly constructed patio. The tired rear extension was rebuilt using bricks to match the existing house, thereby unifying the building. We created a Snug in the center of the house with glazed doors leading onto the open plan space. Other features included a separate Utility room and built in drinks cupboard. The clients had clear ideas for the aesthetic and we worked alongside them to bring their vision to life.

The brief for this project was to extend the kitchen by incorporating an existing Utility room and re-orientating the spaces to allow for a large open plan space connecting onto the rear terrace. The clients wanted to incorporate colour and texture in the design as well as having areas to display their art and ceramics. We focused on using every bit of space to create functional storage within the kitchen design. Extra depth under the window sill was used to create a niche for appliances accessed by sliding doors behind the sink. Low level storage was added under the large window facing the garden to create a window seat. By opening up the spaces and getting the layout right, the family can now occupy the space together for different uses at the same time.

A side infill and rear extension was proposed to create an open plan kitchen/dining space with a better connection between interior and exterior. With a growing family, the clients needed more space within the heart of home. Crittal style aluminium bifold doors were used at the rear to create a design feature, but also provide good thermal comfort. We also created a statement guest W.C.
